El Palomar is an art project focused on the investigation, recovery and production of queer memories to review the hidden history related to gender politics. El Palomar is a working community, an ideological alignment and an institutional reassessment. In this queer-based lab, its directors are artists, but also programmers and curators who generate critical discourses, combining multiple identities. In El Palomar, desire is a catalyst to rethink everything. El Palomar have been working on infecting the dominant post-conceptual macho aesthetic with other discourses by generating spaces for meeting and exchange; creating a program based on multi-vocal research and polyphonic incorporation from working on the margins (from the overground).
In last years they have produced projects that have been shown in several museums and institutions: Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona (MACBA), Casal Solleric (Palma de Mallorca), Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt (Berlin), National Museum of Art Reina Sofía of Madrid (MNARS), Joan Miro Foundation Barcelona, National Museum of Art of Catalonia (MNAC), Institute of Culture of Barcelona, Homesession, Bar Project and others.
